How do we operate?

We operate though:-

bullet

a network of nearly two hundred full members throughout the UK grouped into geographical regions; each with a Regional Representative and Link Members. Many have group meetings

bullet

a National Committee of Regional Representatives and elected officers who meet three times a year to discuss issues and determine policy.

bullet

an Annual General Meeting held in April each year

bullet

a regular newsletter "The Rite Lines" sent to all members and associates.

bullet

local links and other members providing a listening ear when needed

bullet

opportunities to meet other members

bullet

funding from voluntary annual subscriptions and donations from  a variety of sources.

What have we achieved?

We have achieved :-

a  nationwide recognition of the organisation and of the realities of clergy marriage breakdown

bullet

Anglican Diocesan Visitors to help and advise

bullet

more recognition of the problems within the non-established churches

bullet

support from numerous charities

bullet

access to church housing schemes

bullet

a growing awareness and appreciation of our problems and the support needed for divorced and separated clergy wives and their children

bullet

our objective of  legislation to enable pension sharing at divorce

What about the future?

We aim to:-

continue supporting separated and divorced wives of clergy of all denominations

bullet

continue positive support and understanding of the difficulties of children within clergy marriage breakdowns

bullet

generate greater prevention, awareness and understanding of the causes of clergy marriage breakdown

bullet

continue to seek greater uniformity over the issues of reinstatement

bullet

seek greater acknowledge of the particular difficulties surrounding post-retirement marriage breakdown and divorce.
