Breaking Chains

Tied up, life bound

    By things that threaten me;

Rejection, hurt and fear………

¾ I long to be set free.

No where to turn

   Such freedom to obtain;

My life’s weighed down by care

¾ I long for peace again.

Within my mind

The shackles keep me bound;

They hurt my life,

Such pain is all around.

Where can I turn?

Who’ll hear my heartfelt cry?

Who’ll  ease my pain?

Who’ll simply tell me, Why?

Who has the key

To loose this painful chain?

Who’ll set me free

And give me peace again?

A voice I hear!

“From chains I’ll set you free,

So come my child,

And put your trust in me.”

I rise and go,

My Saviour beckons me.

I’ll trust in Him

From bonds to set me free.

So, Christ my Lord,

I come in faith to you,

I hear Your voice

¾please give me life anew.

Healing Calmness

Dear God, you gave such beauty,

In the sky, the sea, the lakes,

And the beauty of the hillside

In my heart much music makes.

The stillness of the water

And the beauty of the hills

Just calms my troubled spirit

And my life with pleasure fills

With gratitude dear Father

I come just now to you

And thank you for such beauty

Which I really love to view;

Your wonderful provision

Of the lovely countryside,

Just makes me feel so thankful

That Your love You do not hide.

Your love for me is precious

For you make my life serene

[like the calmness of the lakeside]

When my life has troubled been.

I love you Heavenly Father

So forgive the doubts I feel

For I know, despite my doubtings

That my hurt Your love did heal.

So for Your loving kindness

For Your special loving care,

I thank You, and I praise You

For such love beyond compare.

And as I view the lakeside

And the calmness there revealed,

I remember Lord with gladness

That you, my wounds have healed.
