Lee Abbey in North Devon

international Christian community set in 280 acres on the North Devon
coast. The retreats are Bible-based and socialable but silent retreats are also
offered. Charges per night for single rooms range form £45-£68 depending on the
type of room and time of year but there are reductions for children and
missionary or clergy families. They also have an outdoor activity centre and
organise youth camps. There are some employment opportunities. There have Lee
Abbey households and community action in Birmingham, Blackburn and Bristol.

This charity was warmly recommended by one of our members. It is based around the work of Jim Cotter and his Cairns Publications. He has written a large number of books reflecting upon contemporary issues. His small retreats provide, "Breathing spaces on the pilgrim journey
offering simple hospitality, quiet prayer and thoughtful conversation."
