Autumn Report 2009

Area Meeting
Our July meeting was
most successful having a visit from a Scottish lawyer who deals with
matrimonial matters and she gave us an excellent insight into the
legalities of divorce pertaining solely to Scottish law. Also, it was the
first time we have had an Irish member in attendance, namely Helen
from the Republic of Ireland, who was warmly greeted by us all. Helen,
who has a contact who works with street children in Brazil, was able to
give details to Nina our Mission Partner. What a coincidence!
News
We have had contact
with a new person recently referred to us by “Care for the Family” and we
look forward to having her at our next meeting on 31st October 2009.
Very sadly we have
heard of the sudden death of a previous member Sheila , whose daughter
Gill spoke on behalf of Broken Rites at the General Assembly of the Church
of Scotland some years ago. The
outcome was that a
Helpline was set up for Ministers and their families which has proved to
be exceedingly supportive over the years.
